WHY YOUR JOB TITLE DOESN'T INTRODUCE YOU At networking events, most people introduce themselves with a job title and a company name, and both are usually forgotten within a minute. What sticks is a sentence about what you actually do for someone. "I help small businesses get loans" tells a listener something real; "Senior Relationship Manager" tells them nothing unless they already work in banking. The trick is translating your title into a result. A software engineer might say "I build the systems that stop online payments from failing." A teacher might say "I help teenagers who've given up on maths change their minds." Neither sentence uses jargon, and both are easy to repeat to someone else later, which is exactly the point — an introduction that can be repeated is one that spreads. Perguntas: 1. Why do job titles often fail to introduce someone? 2. What should replace the job title, according to the text? 3. Why does it matter if an introduction "can be repeated"?
