O teu fim de semana

A2 · Past Simple: regular verbs

Ouvir

Vais ouvir uma mulher a contar o fim de semana a um colega.

My weekend didn't go as planned at all. We were supposed to go camping, but on Friday night it started raining and it didn't stop. So we stayed in, and honestly, it turned out to be lovely. On Saturday we cooked a huge lunch, played board games with the kids and watched old family videos. On Sunday the sun came out, so we walked down to the river. We didn't do anything special, but I felt more rested than after a real holiday.

Ler

Talking about your weekend When someone asks about your weekend, a good answer has three parts: A general comment: "It was really relaxing." "It was a bit hectic." One or two activities: "I went for a long walk." "We had friends over for dinner." A detail or a feeling: "The weather was perfect." "I didn't want it to end." Remember the past simple: regular verbs take -ed (visited, cooked, stayed), but many common verbs are irregular (went, had, saw, made, bought). And ask back: "What about you? Did you do anything nice?"

Falar

Imagine a colleague asks 'How was your weekend?'. Speak for 30–60 seconds: give a general comment, two activities and a detail, and ask back.

Escrever

Write 4–5 sentences about a weekend that didn't go as planned.
