Morning, everyone, thanks for coming — I know a few of you are joining from the Lisbon office too, so welcome. I'll run through the Q3 numbers, explain what changed compared to our forecast, and finish with what we're proposing for Q4. That's three sections, about twenty-five minutes altogether. I'd rather you save questions until the end, mainly because the second section answers most of the obvious ones. If anything's still unclear after that, I've left plenty of time. Right, let's get into it.

WHY THE FIRST THIRTY SECONDS DECIDE THE ROOM
An audience decides, in the first thirty seconds, whether to trust the speaker's control of the material. That decision has almost nothing to do with the slides.
The clearest signal of control is the agenda: three sections, named, in order, with a rough time attached. "Sales, costs, next steps, twenty minutes" tells the room exactly what to expect and when it ends.
The second signal is what to do with questions. Saying "save them until the end" isn't about avoiding difficulty — it stops the talk turning into ten small conversations before the main point has even been made.
The third is tone. A speaker who names the awkward part early ("I know some of you were expecting better numbers") sounds more in control than one who avoids it, because the room already knows and is waiting to see if the speaker does too.
Perguntas:
1. What does the audience decide in the first thirty seconds?
2. Why is naming three sections better than one long description?
3. Why does naming the awkward part early build trust?
